Ohio State football is coming off its first loss of the year. It was also the first time the Buckeyes were without quarterback Julian Sayin. Sayin has an elbow injury that could keep him out of the lineup for the rest of the season.
Now, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day is giving an update on his quarterback, per Jonathan Wagner of On3.
“I’ll kind of let him handle that, his family,” Day said. “All things considered, the outcome with the different options that were (available) kind of going into the situation thinking it could be, I think this has been a decent outcome for us and for him. We’ll kind of let him go through that, but this thing looks to be healing. It’s not gonna be next week or next month. It’s gonna take some time, but I think certainly for the long term, we feel like we’re on a good track here.”
Sayin left the game on October 17 agaisnt Indiana, and when he emerged from the locker room, his throwing arm was in a sling. He has been out since. Luke Fahey got the start for Ohio State against USC. He completed 21 of 38 passes for 260 yards with a touchdown in the 30-18 loss.

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes prepare to continue life without their star quarterback. They play host to Oregon on Saturday.
