The Philadelphia Eagles are in rough shape after Monday Night Football. Philadelphia lost 38-21 against Dallas in a game where they looked completely outmatched. One stat shows just how terrible Vic Fangio's expensive defense was against the Cowboys.

The Eagles had zero sacks and quarterback hits on Monday night against the Cowboys, per reporter Dave Zangaro. They did manage a total of six pressure, which is their lowest rate of the entire season. Jonathan Greenard, Jalyx Hunt, Moro Ojomo, Arnold Ebiketie, A.J. Epenesa, and Jihaad Campbell all chipped in one pressure each.

This is concerning in part because Philly made some big investments in this unit over the offseason. They extended Jalen Carter on a $152 million deal as well as Jordan Davis on a $78 million contract. If those investments don't pan out, the Eagles could be in big trouble.

Head coach Nick Sirianni could not point to just one thing that went wrong on Monday night. That suggests Philly does not have a simple solution that can fix all of their defensive problems.

“There’s never just one thing,” Sirianni said after the game, per The Athletic's Brooks Kubena. “Again, when you’re not getting pressures, you’ve got to try to simulate them in some way. So again, it’s always a version of, how are we executing? How are we putting them in positions to succeed? Because all that matters is that it goes out onto the field and we try to give ourselves the best chance to win. In this game of football, just like anything, I think we always want to pin it on something, but there’s multiple things that contribute to it. We’ll look at that, look at some of the common themes and see what we need to do to get better.”

Philly is now in real danger of their season unraveling at 2-5. If they drop another game next week, they may be unable to climb out of this hole.

Next up for the Eagles is a road game against the Commanders on Sunday Night Football.
