Nebraska football has dropped a second straight game. After losing to Indiana, the Cornhuskers were looking to rebound against Oregon. They had a lead late in the game, but former Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola led the comeback, beating Oregon 17-14.

Now, Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule is talking about a mistake he made in the game that he will not do again, per Mitch Sherman of The Athletic.

“I let the guys dance (before) the fourth quarter. I will never do that again,” Rhule said.

Nebraska took a 7-0 lead on an Anthony Coladrea pass to Kwazi Gilmer, the only score of the first half. Nebraska went for it on fourth down to open the second half and turned it over. That led to Oregon getting just one yard on the next drive, but getting a field goal. After a Nebraska punt on the next drive, the Ducks drove 39 yards for another field goal to make it 7-6.

Later in the third quarter, Oregon starting quarterback Brock Thomas was intercepted. This led to a Nebraska touchdown drive. It was also the end of the day for Thomas. Dylan Raiola entered the game that began in the third quarter, but continued into the fourth. That drive led to a field goal, but Nebraska was still up 14-9. After a three-play drive that lost three yards, Nebraska punted. Raiola then led Oregon on a 20-play drive, taking 5:03 off the clock and ending in a touchdown. Nebraska got the ball back, but came up short, as Oregon won 17-14.

The Cornhuskers are off this week and return to the field on October 31 to face off with Washington.
