The Baltimore Ravens are coming off a 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns on the road on Sunday, and that defeat has put extra attention on their kicking situation.

Ravens kicker Tyler Loop had a crucial miss in that contest, botching an attempt from 49 yards away early in the fourth quarter that would have made it harder for Cleveland to pull off a come-from-behind win.

On Monday, Ravens head coach Jesse Minter sent a clear message about kicks missed, especially in the more crucial phases of a game.

“That position itself is completely results driven,” Minter said, via Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. “We'll continue to work with him, but we need to make second-half kicks. You can argue that second-half missed kicks are almost like turnovers.”

It has been an up-and-down ride for Loop with Baltimore. Back in Week 3, he was the toast of the town after drilling a 56-yard field goal to punctuate a wild seven-second drive to beat the Dallas Cowboys, 34-31, in a game in Brazil.

That felt like redemption for Loop, who was under fire when he missed a 48-yard kick in a crucial game against the Pittsburgh Steelers late in the 2025 NFL season.

But since the win over the Cowboys, the 25-year-old Loop has gone 5-for-7, with both misses taking place in the second half.

Loop is still on Baltimore's roster, but he's also probably skating on thin ice, as the Ravens look to bounce back from the loss to Cleveland.

The Ravens selected Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft and signed him to a four-year, $4.44 million contract.
