Darian Mensah is enjoying an incredible campaign with the Miami Hurricanes. However, his NFL Draft prospects got positive and critical feedback from Mel Kiper Jr.
Mensah is going through the fourth season of his collegiate career, his first with the Hurricanes. He has put together incredible performances to lead Miami to a perfect start in 2026, rising up to No. 1 in the latest AP Top 25 poll.
Kiper talked about Mensah's performances during his appearance on ‘NFL on ESPN'. He noted both the pros and cons of the quarterback, seeing the Notre Dame contest as an important one for Mensah's ceiling.
“Smooth thrower of the football. He doesn't have the wow arm strength. He doesn't have that rocket arm, right? That howitzer. But he's very accurate. He can move within the pocket. You need a third down for the legs. He can do that. I didn't like the when he threw the interception in the end zone. You're smiling. You're having a good time. I want to see a little different approach after an interception in the end zone, which was a terrible decision and bad throw by Mensa at that particular point,” Kiper said at the 10:08 mark.
“But he's have a chance. The Notre Dame game, november 7, at South Bend Field, biggest against C.J. Carr and Darian Mensah. That's going to be one for the books, and that Notre Dame defense can get after it.”
