Ole Miss football is an established top 10 team across the college football universe. The play of Trinidad Chambliss sparks the Rebels, but comes with scrutiny ahead of the NFL Draft due to his size. Longtime draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. fired off this message to teams, though.
Kiper rolled out his list of top draft prospects for 2027 on Monday alongside his fellow ESPN draft colleague Field Yates. Kiper doesn't see someone who lack a prototypical build at under six-feet.
“Trinidad Chambliss seems unphased by anything,” Kiper began. “And he seems to relish pressure situations. He just loves to play the position.”
Kiper adds that Chambliss is a “handful” to deal with for defenses, especially when he turns to his legs. He even believes that Chambliss “creates the most pressure” against defenses than most of the incoming QBs for the April draft class.
Once again Kiper is urging to bypass size when breaking down Chambliss. Particularly noting how Carolina Panthers QB Bryce Young has hit a stride despite being under 5-foot-11. Kiper added how Kyler Murray landed at No. 1 overall despite his lack of perceived size, while Russell Wilson became a perennial playoff quarterback and Super Bowl winner despite being under six-feet.

Kiper concludes how Chambliss can boost his NFL stock with more stellar performances for 2026. That includes taking down a struggling Texas team at two losses and facing potentially benching Arch Manning behind center.
