Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed the Draymond Green changes that will be made ahead of the 2026-27 season. Green will have to embrace rookie Yaxel Lendeborg on offense. And with Warriors' Brandin Podziemski taking on an increased role in the backcourt, Draymond's expected to make slight tweaks to his approach.

In addition to being encouraged to take more threes, Green will have the ball taken out of his hands in favor of Podziemski, as Kerr discussed, per NBC Sports Bay Area's Dalton Johnson.

“It's the biggest adjustment for him,” Kerr said. “He's trailed the play for us for years, so we're telling him every play, ‘Get down the floor.’ And when he's down the floor, that could mean he's in the corner, could mean he's on the wing, but he's still going to be involved in the action. And when we say 5-out, it doesn't necessarily mean five 3-point shooters, but it means five guys around the 3-point line.”

Warriors' Draymond Green has been understanding of the Warriors head coach Steve Kerr's changes to their offensive attack this upcoming season.

“He’s been super mindful of that,” Podziemski said. “It'd be easy for a guy that's been doing it for 15 years now to just be like, ‘Nah, this is how I do it.’ But his adaptability … Steph's trying to learn the new things; it's encouraging, and it's a good example for all the young guys to see.”

Fans will get their first look at the 2026-27 Warriors in their preseason opener against the LA Clippers on Sunday.
