The overseas players in the NBA have been a threat for the rest of the lot, with Victor Wembanyama leading the charge. The San Antonio superstar delivered one of his strongest performances of the young season as the Spurs defeated the Sacramento Kings 130-103 on Tuesday.

After dominating on both ends of the floor, the Frenchman explained how he is simplifying his game, drawing inspiration from martial arts legend Bruce Lee.

“I'm trying to narrow down the number of things I do so I can get better at certain things,” Wembanyama said in a French-language interview after the game.

He then referenced Lee's famous philosophy about mastering a skill through repetition rather than spreading attention across too many techniques.

“‘I fear not the man who has practiced a thousand kicks once, but the man who has practiced one kick a thousand times,’” Wembanyama said.

The mindset came after a dominant outing against Sacramento. Wembanyama finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks, two assists, and two steals without committing a turnover. He shot 14-of-21 from the field, although he missed all three of his attempts from beyond the arc.

San Antonio controlled the game early, scoring 80 points in the first half to take a commanding 26-point lead into the break. Wembanyama established himself near the rim, while teammate Julian Champagnie caught fire from outside.

Champagnie made all eight of his first-half three-pointers, finishing with 26 points. His shooting stretched Sacramento's defense and created more room for Wembanyama to attack inside.

The Spurs also benefited from balanced contributions across the lineup, turning an encouraging offensive performance into a comfortable victory. The result gave San Antonio consecutive wins after opening the season with two defeats.
