The Houston Rockets will be without star center Alperen Sengun for Wednesday night's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks as they attempt to continue their undefeated start to the 2026-27 season.
Houston's latest injury report Wednesday morning ruled Sengun out because of low back soreness. The Rockets will begin a two-game road trip against Milwaukee at 8 p.m. ET after improving to 4-0 with Monday night's 120-110 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.
Sengun's absence comes after one of his strongest performances of the young season. The 24-year-old nearly recorded a triple-double against Atlanta, finishing with 29 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. He also collected six steals and one block while shooting 11-for-15 from the field, making his lone 3-point attempt and going 6-for-8 at the free-throw line across 37 minutes.
Through four games, Sengun is averaging a career-high 24.5 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and 1.8 steals per game. He has shot 58.1% from the field and 66.7% from beyond the arc while averaging 34 minutes per contest.
His absence leaves Houston without one of its primary offensive hubs against Milwaukee and creates another frontcourt concern for head coach Ime Udoka.

Steven Adams will also miss Wednesday's contest with a right soleus strain, leaving the Rockets without their top two traditional centers.
Marcus Smart, meanwhile, remains questionable because of a left forearm strain. His final status could further impact Houston's rotation against the Bucks.

The Rockets' full injury report lists Adams, Copeland, Phillips and Sengun as out, with Smart questionable.
Houston has opened the season with four consecutive victories, including back-to-back wins over Atlanta, despite already managing several injuries across its rotation. Kevin Durant and the Rockets will now attempt to preserve their unbeaten record without Sengun anchoring the frontcourt.
Wednesday's game begins a two-game road trip for Houston before the Rockets travel to face the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.
