South Carolina football applied heat on Florida following a heated moment involving quarterback LaNorris Sellers. But in the process, the Gamecocks' 38-19 rout of the Gators lowered the hot seat temperature for coach Shane Beamer. Especially with athletic director Jeremiah Donati watching.

Beamer's job security rose as a major topic in the Palmetto State. Including fans questioning if he can lead the Gamecocks past a top 25 foe.

So Beamer gets South Carolina to obliterate the No. 16 Gators. And Beamer even shouted out the man who ultimately has the power to decide his coaching fate.

“These guys have done nothing but have my back,” Beamer said regarding Donati, but also school deputies Wes Mallette and Jeff Crane.

Beamer's words fires off the signal that all three, including the AD, handed the coach assurance he's safe. This despite the disappointing start to the season and entering “The Swamp” with an 0-3 mark against SEC foes.

But South Carolina broke a 10-10 tie and never let off the personal gas pedal. Sellers hit Mazeo Bennett following a heated exchange on the sidelines to lift the Gamecocks ahead.

Sellers wasn't through shredding the Gators inside their home venue. The dual-threat quarterback combined for the next three touchdowns to raise the lead to 38-13. Including tossing two more touchdowns of 26 and 21 yards to Donovan Murph and Lex Cyrus, respectively.

So South Carolina earned its biggest SEC win, plus signature victory, of 2026 and evens its record at 3-3. And from what it appears, Beamer has pleased the powers that be after the walloping.
