Georgia handed Alabama football its first loss of the season. The result forced Kalen DeBoer’s squad to confront its costly mistakes, and sports commentator Skip Bayless added more salt to the coach’s frustration with a blunt criticism.
Following Alabama’s 20-17 loss to Georgia, Bayless took to X and claimed that DeBoer had “lost it.”
“Kalen DeBoer has LOST IT. Not a good look,” Bayless wrote.
For Alabama’s head coach, the loss was particularly difficult to accept because his team had several opportunities to seize control of the game but struggled to capitalize on key moments when execution mattered most.
The closing minutes delivered another damaging blow to DeBoer’s team. Alabama still had an opportunity to get the ball back after Georgia’s defense halted the Crimson Tide’s late offensive drive.
However, Alabama cornerback Dijon Lee Jr. was assessed a costly 15-yard penalty for punching an opposing player, allowing the Bulldogs to retain possession and run out the remaining clock.
DeBoer made little effort to hide his frustration, as the Alabama head coach was seen confronting Lee on the sideline.
“You just cost us the game,” DeBoer said to Lee.
DeBoer also did not hesitate to deliver a stern message to Lee in his postgame press conference.

The loss dropped Alabama to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in SEC play. Meanwhile, Georgia moved to 6-0 and strengthened its standing in the conference race, while also securing its first regular-season victory over the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa since 2007.
The Crimson Tide will now shift its focus to its upcoming rivalry showdown against Tennessee.
