The Seattle Seahawks recently took their second loss in three weeks with a tough home defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks weren't able to get a ton going on offense in this one, with the team hampered by several turnovers and crucial mistakes throughout the afternoon.

Thankfully, the team got a positive injury update on a key member of their offensive backfield on Wednesday.

“Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet has a legitimate chance to make his season debut in Week 7 vs. Kansas City, multiple sources say,” reported NFL insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

Charbonnet tore his ACL last year during the playoffs and has missed all of this season so far, but returning in Week 7 would mean he would only miss one more game due to the injury.

Coming back in that one would add some extra juice for Charbonnet's return, as he would be facing off against former Seahawks running back and last year's Super Bowl MVP, Kenneth Walker III, who departed the team to join Kansas City in free agency this past year. Walker III has been on an absolute tear for the Chiefs so far in 2026, and it will be interesting to see what kind of reception he gets from the home fans in Seattle.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks' running game had gotten off to an impressive start despite Charbonnet's injury and Walker III's departure, but it has begun to show some signs of slippage in recent weeks, so Seattle will certainly be looking forward to getting the star back in the lineup.

In any case, the Seahawks will next hit the field on Thursday evening for a tough road game against the Denver Broncos at 8:15 pm ET.
