The Chicago Bears fell back to Earth on Sunday with a brutal road loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Bears now sit at 3-2 on the season, although they are expecting to get star quarterback Caleb Williams back for Week 6 on the road vs the Atlanta Falcons.
One of the more disappointing players for Chicago this season has been wide receiver Rome Odunze, who has not been producing at the level the Bears had hoped when they drafted him in the first round two years ago.
Now, he has gotten an unflattering comparison to another high-profile wide receiver who hasn't panned out in the NFL thus far.
“Career numbers: Rome Odunze: 115-1,668-9 in 34 games, 49.1 yards per game, 14.5 yards per reception, 7.6 yards per target. Marvin Harrison Jr.: 108-1,578-13 in 33 games, 47.8 yards per game, 14.6 yards per reception, 7.8 yards per target,” noted Ian Hartitz of RotoWire on X, formerly Twitter.
Of course, this comparison isn't exactly the most honest one, as fans in the comment section noted.
“Rome also spent an entire year buried in the depth chart as like the 4/5th passing option on a terribly managed team. At least Marv always had the expectation of being the #1,” wrote one fan.

Harrison Jr. was recently traded from the Arizona Cardinals to the Houston Texans amid his rough start to his career, while Odunze is also still working to find his footing in Chicago.
Odunze was expected to take a step forward this year after the Bears' trade of DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills this offseason, but thus far, that has not been the case.
