Coach Jesse Minter's Baltimore Ravens are 4-5 on the season after a 33-10 waxing at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars that exposed backup QB Joe Fagnano. The Ravens responded with a trade for former Arizona Cardinals starter Jacoby Brissett that came amid Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley injury news.
The details of the trade were finalized on the afternoon of November 6, as reported on by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
“Ravens-Cardinals trade for Jacoby Brissett is now official. Per sources: Ravens receive QB Jacoby Brissett and a 2027 fifth-round pick. Cardinals receive a 2027 fourth-round pick and a 2028 seventh-round pick.”
Fans seemed surprised by the haul the Cardinals got for their former QB.
“A fourth-round pick? There's no saving this team, the season is over,” one fan said about the Ravens.
“Won't change things in Baltimore. This team should be sellers,' another said.
“Baltimore just bought a bridge QB for a mid-round change,” another added.
“Whatever the case may be, the Ravens need Brissett after watching what took place last night,” another said.
“For a fourth they were really desperate,” another fan added.
The Ravens were given a positive grade for the trade, as they acquired a veteran who has thrown for over 1,700 yards this season who can help bridge the gap between now and the expected return of Jackson, who recently had surgery on his right thumb. Baltimore is in last place in the AFC North but there is a feeling that the division race could come down to the wire with the Pittsburgh Steelers leading the pack at 6-2.
