San Diego Padres closer Mason Miller missed Game 3 of the National League Division Series as his wife gave birth to the couples' first child. Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY reports that Padres manager Craig Stammen said everything went well with the birth of Miller's child. Miller will officially be available for Game 4 of the NLDS after being activated from the paternity list, the Padres announced.
“We have returned RHP Mason Miller from the paternity list today. He will take the place of LHP Wandy Peralta on the active NLDS roster,” the team announced.
San Diego earned a 4-3 victory in Game 3. The Brewers still hold a 2-1 series lead, but the Padres kept their season alive with the win. Game 4 represents another must-win contest for San Diego.
