Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons may have had flashbacks after seeing New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart go down with a knee injury on Monday.
Dart was attempting a pass against the Los Angeles Rams in the first quarter when he got hit. He had to be helped off the field and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest. The Giants lost, 28-6.
Parsons, who is still recovering from a knee injury, could not help but react on X following the unfortunate development to Dart.
âÂÂI freaking hate injuries, man! I hate that they are a part of football!â wrote the veteran star.
In another tweet, he expressed his support for the second-year quarterback.
âÂÂPrayers for Dart!â said Parsons.
Dart is feared to have sprained his MCL. He could miss an extended period.
The 27-year-old Parsons knows exactly how terrible it is to suffer a major injury, as he tore his ACL in Week 15 against the Denver Broncos. He was having a strong run in his maiden stint with the Packers before the painful setback.
The four-time All-Pro is expected to return to action in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears or Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys, although everything is merely conjecture at this point, as there has been no clear timeline for his status.
The Athletic's Matt Schneidman noted that Parsons is already eligible to practice.
âÂÂThe Packers don't officially practice this week with the Thursday game. Next Wednesday's practice before visiting Tampa would be more realistic for Parsons' practice return,â wrote Schneidman on X.
Green Bay will face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3.
The Packers beat the New York Jets in overtime, 20-17, on Sunday. Trey Smack delivered the game-winning field goal to snap their six-game losing streak.
