While many analysts have their own bold predictions for the 2026-27 Denver Nuggets, NBA insider Zach Lowe made his about All-Star Jamal Murray’s future. Nuggets’ Murray scored a game-high 35 points in a 118-110 loss to the Portland Blazers on Monday. Denver bounced back with a 128-109 win against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday to improve to 4-3.
While it’s still early in the regular season, if the Nuggets remain a middle-of-the-pack team in the Western Conference standings, they could seek a trade in exchange for Murray, according to Lowe.
“I said Jamal Murray just because if this team isn’t good, I think something is gonna crack here. I’m not closing the door,” Lowe said. “I took the under on them at 48 and a half, which was startling- maybe 49 and a half; I don’t remember what it was- but I was the only one who took the under, which startled me cause I just have that much faith in Jokic. If they’re a run-of-the-mill team, I’m not closing the door on anything.”

Nuggets' Jamal Murray is in the second year of a four-year $207.8 million contract, worth $50.1 million for the 2026-27 season. Denver has surrendered losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors, and the Blazers two weeks into the regular season. If they stay healthy, the Nuggets have a great chance to finish as one of the better teams in the Western Conference standings.
Since winning the 2023 Finals, the Nuggets have failed to reach as far as the Western Conference Finals over the past three seasons, with teams such as the Thunder and the Minnesota Timberwolves, who eliminated them from the 2026 playoffs, standing in their way in recent years.
