DTLR has wrapped up its HBCU Welcome Back Tour after spending the fall bringing Nick Cannon and the energy of “Wild ’N Out” directly to college campuses across the country.
Since August, the lifestyle retailer has partnered with Cannon and his hit comedy franchise to visit several HBCUs, giving students more than just a chance to experience the show. At select tour stops, aspiring comedians and entertainers were given the opportunity to audition for a chance to join the upcoming “Wild ’N Out” live tour.
The partnership brought together comedy, music, fashion, and HBCU culture while creating a unique opportunity for students to showcase their talents in front of the team behind one of the longest-running comedy shows of its generation.
“DTLR is excited to elevate the HBCU tour experience this year by partnering with Nick Cannon and providing students with the opportunity to display their talents in the Wild N Out Freestyle Booth for a chance to appear on the show live tour,” Todd Kirssin, president and CEO of DTLR, said in a statement. “We hope school communities will come to celebrate and connect with DTLR and Cannon as we continue our legacy and dedication in supporting HBCU students.”
The tour made its way to several HBCU campuses throughout August, September, and October:
- Aug. 20, 2026 — Howard University
- Aug. 26, 2026 — Bowie State University
- Aug. 28, 2026 — Florida A&M University
- Sept. 2, 2026 — Morgan State University
- Sept. 5, 2026—Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University, and Spelman College
- Sept. 11, 2026 — Alabama A&M University
- Sept. 18, 2026 — Jackson State University
- Oct. 5, 2026 — Alcorn State University
For Cannon, bringing the “Wild ’N Out” experience to HBCU campuses has a personal connection. The entertainer has consistently used the show as a platform for emerging comedians, musicians, and personalities, and the HBCU tour created another opportunity for the next generation of talent to get noticed. For DTLR, the tour continued the brand’s longstanding connection to HBCU students and culture.
Cannon and the “Wild ’N Out” family also have plenty of HBCU ties of their own. Cannon graduated from Howard University in 2020, while cast members and fan favorites, including DC Young Fly, Chico Bean, B Daht, Darren Brand, and Pretty Vee, have connections to Fort Valley State, Winston-Salem State, North Carolina A&T, and Saint Augustine’s University. “Wild ’N Out” veteran Karlous Miller also got a taste of HBCU life as a cast member on Season 3 of “College Hill: Celebrity Edition” at Xavier University of Louisiana.
