With Nic Claxton listed as questionable, he may or may not suit up. So far, Claxton hasn't played a single minute this season or in the preseason.

As a result, Jalen Smith has filled in for him at center in the starting lineup. The injury report also listed Smith as probable due to a left finger sprain.

On Sunday, Claxton fully participated in practice, suggesting he may be close to returning, per K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Sports Network. Johnson also reported that Claxton was upgraded to questionable on Tuesday.

In June, the Bulls acquired Claxton in a 3-way trade with the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves. Claxton brings Chicago the athleticism, size, and rim protection it sorely needs.

Last year, Claxton averaged 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while making 69 appearances. The Nets selected Claxton with the 31st pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He went on to play seven seasons in Brooklyn. During the 2022-23 season, Claxton was a Defensive Player of the Year candidate.

So, whether Nic Claxton is playing against the Knicks on Wednesday is unknown.
