As the New York Giants inked cornerback Greg Newsome to a contract extension, the deal actually has ripple effects on what the team could do ahead of the trade deadline. As rumors surround the Giants regarding who the team will target at the trade deadline, it turns out that Newsome's contract extension will help the team.
