The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently gearing up for their upcoming matchup on Thursday evening against the Baltimore Ravens. This comes as trade speculation has surrounded the team, particularly regarding wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who has had a relatively quiet season thus far despite the team's success.

Now, NFL insider Ian Rapoport has revealed the latest on those talks, including the Jaguars' apparent preferred target in a potential deal.

“(The Jaguars are) targeting a top-tier defensive lineman. Will they get one? We don't know. I know Jeffery Simmons was someone they were interested in… Brian Thomas Jr. has been an area of interest for a lot of other teams… what we don't know is, would Jacksonville actually move him? They're a good team… time will tell,” he said, per the NFL on ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

The Jaguars could certainly use some additional help along the defensive line, although that unit is already among the best in the NFL this year. As Rapoport mentioned, Jeffery Simmons was recently taken off the market when the Tennessee Titans traded him to the Chicago Bears for a treasure trove of draft assets.

Meanwhile, Thomas Jr. scored a touchdown last week vs the Indianapolis Colts and is seemingly working his way into form as the season progresses, so it will be fascinating to see how the Jaguars view the situation moving forward.

In any case, the Jaguars are slated to kick things off vs the Ravens on Thursday at 8:15 pm ET from Baltimore.
