The Los Angeles Rams are trying to figure out what went wrong after a loss to the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo defeated Los Angeles 37-34 in overtime on Monday night. While Los Angeles made some special teams errors in the game, one reporter is asking about a different unit on the team.

ESPN reporter Mina Kimes is asking a question about the team's decisions on defense.

“Special teams rightfully under the microscope but I still can't get over the Rams playing man on that final drive. Why?” Kimes posted to X, formerly Twitter.

Neither team was all that good on defense in the game. Both Buffalo and L.A. posted more than 400 total yards. The Bills averaged 7.6 yards per play.

Sean McVay, the head coach of the Rams, was furious following the team's game. Buffalo kicked a field goal to win the game in overtime.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been this pissed after a game,” McVay told reporters in his postgame presser.

Los Angeles had a field goal blocked on Monday. The Rams also missed another field goal attempt. McVay is ready to make lots of changes with his kicking unit after that poor performance.

“In the kicking game, especially with our PAT, field goal, not even close to good enough,” McVay said after the loss, per ESPN. “It cost us the game tonight.”

The Rams offensive players felt they could have done more to avoid even having to attempt field goals.

“We go out there and we give the opportunity for our special teams to kind of go out there and get a field goal,” L.A. receiver Puka Nacua said. “We got to be able to execute, and if that's not what we wanted to do, we got to find a way to convert on the critical downs.”

Following the loss the Rams are now 2-3 on the season. Los Angeles will try and fix it when they next play the Arizona Cardinals on October 18.
