The Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics were in a battle last night, but only one team could come out victorious. After being down four points with a few seconds left in regulation, the Nets found a way to tie the game, and it was rookie Mikel Brown Jr. who hit a big 3-pointer to take the game into overtime.

Chris Paul must've been watching the game closely, because right after the shot, he made a tweet showing love to Brown.

“Mikel Brown Jr!! Big shot and could tell he wanted the ball for that shot,” Paul wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

That love only lasted for about 20 minutes, because toward the end of halftime, the Celtics had the ball down one point. The ball was given to no other than Jayson Tatum, and he went and scored at the buzzer, giving the Celtics the win. Paul then had to show love to Tatum.

“Even bigger shot by JT!!!!!!!!!” Paul wrote.

It was definitely one of those games that could've gone either way, but the Nets had several chances to win in overtime. Unfortunately, it was Brown who may have spoiled their chances after two mistakes he made. The first one he made was missing a wide-open layup that would've given the Nets a three-point lead late in overtime.

The Nets then had another chance to extend the lead, but instead of dribbling the ball out to get fouled, he went up for another layup and missed that one as well. That led the Celtics to take advantage, and Tatum put the finishing touches on the game.

It was definitely a learning lesson for Brown early in the season, and he'll know what to do in those situations moving forward. As for Tatum, he's been having some big games after the rough performance he had during the season opener.
