On Monday evening, the Chicago Bears continued their strong season with a big road win over the Seattle Seahawks in comfortable fashion. While trade acquisition Jeffery Simmons got most of the headlines with his monster first game for the Bears, quarterback Caleb Williams put together another elite performance against one of the league's elite defenses in Seattle.

Now, pundits in the media are taking notice, including Mike Florio of NBC Sports.

“The new top four (quarterbacks), in our view, are (in no particular order), Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Caleb Williams,” wrote Florio of NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.

Florio also predicted that “If the Bears keep doing what they did on Monday night — and if they finish the season with the No. 1 seed in the NFC — Williams will get plenty of (MVP) votes. And he has a real chance to win it.”

Many projected Williams to be a fringe MVP candidate coming into this season, and although he missed a few games early on with a hamstring injury, he has since returned to an elite level now that he's back in the lineup, with the Bears continuing to dominate the competition and gaining ground on the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC North divisional race.

It remains to be seen if the Bears will be able to keep up their hot play during the second half of the season, but the trade for Simmons sure seems to have helped them shore up one of the few weaknesses on their defense.

In any case, the Bears will next hit the field on Sunday for a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
