The New York Knicks are hoping to bounce back after laying an egg on Ring Night earlier this week, losing at home to the new-look Philadelphia 76ers in narrow fashion. The Knicks appeared to be a bit emotionally drained after the ceremony and banner raising, getting off to a slow start and ultimately running out of gas down the stretch en route to the loss.

However, one person not concerned about the outcome is Knicks wing Josh Hart.

“It's game one. It means literally nothing. We don't want to be the best version of ourselves game one… A lot of mistakes that we have to learn from,” he said, per SNY Knicks on X, formerly Twitter.

While the Knicks players viewing the game as meaning “literally nothing” might not be music to the ears of fans who paid well into the tens of thousands in order to get into the building, it's still an even-keeled view of things for a team that just proved it has what it takes to win at the highest level by securing last year's NBA title.

It was a cold shooting night for New York in this one for the most part, and the team will look to have a more accurate night on Friday evening when they hit the road to take on the Boston Celtics.

That game will match New York up with their former big man, Mitchell Robinson, who departed for Boston in free agency this summer, much to the chagrin of Knicks fans.

Tipoff between the two rivals is set for 7:00 pm ET on Friday from Boston.
