Ahead of his first time hosting Saturday Night Live (SNL), a teaser was dropped showing the “Key to the City” given to New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson.
The teaser opens with Brunson greeting Ben Marshall backstage. Marshall was hoping the NBA Finals MVP would sign his back so he could get it tattooed. Brunson, taken aback by the question, is wearing the “Key to the City” given to him by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
However, the only door he wants it to unlock is the one that leads to SNL's famed Studio 8H. He tries and tries to no avail. Marshall offers to help, but Brunson declines.
Eventually, he tries to ram through the door with his body, with a sledgehammer, and a chainsaw. Marshall then reveals that you have to pull (not push) the door open.

Brunson, fresh off leading the Knicks to an NBA Finals win, will host the season premiere episode of SNL on Saturday, Sep. 26. Katseye will be the musical guest.
This is his first time hosting. It's unknown how the sketches will utilize him, but if the trailer is any indication, he will kill it while hosting the show.
He headlined the first slate of guests for this season of SNL. Dakota Johnson (with Turnstile as musical guest) hosts on Oct. 3, Shane Gillis (with Rosalía as musical guest) hosts on Oct. 10, and Inde Navarrette (with Gracie Abrams as musical guest) hosts on Oct. 31.
It has been a busy summer for Brunson. He led the Knicks to a dominant NBA Finals run, culminating in the franchise's first championship in 53 years. The Knicks' next season begins on Oct. 20 against LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers. Before that, though, he has to host SNL for the first time ever.
