With the Miami Heat (3-6) losing to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night, 120-100, it marked another step back for the team that came into the season with high expectations. After Heat star Klay Thompson hit the game-winner the previous night against the Los Angeles Clippers, he would speak after facing his former team about how he still has the utmost confidence in the team turning it around.

In the loss to Golden State, Thompson would record 11 points on three of 10 shooting from the field, two of seven from three-point range, to go along with three assists and two blocks. While the new-look Miami team, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, continues to figure out how to play with one another, Thompson says that the Heat will “absolutely turn it around,” having gone through these types of starts before.

“I've been through moments like this before, where you start the season 3-7 or under .500 in your first 15 games, and you can absolutely turn it around, and I know we will. It's just about staying together,” Thompson said.

It was another pedestrian and surprising low defensive effort from Miami, as they are of the belief that the offense will follow once the defense gets better.

“If we don’t commit to that side, we’re gonna keep scoring 100 points,” Adebayo said after recording 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The Heat “didn't have a lot of juice” against the Warriors

The Heat shot 41 percent from the field and 30 percent from beyond the arc, while the Warriors, led by Stephen Curry's 29 points, shot 53 percent from the field and 39 percent from deep. While the team started fast on a 14-4 run, Golden State made it a tie game at halftime, leading to Miami being unable to get anything consistently going on either side of the ball.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra said that the team “didn't have a lot of juice” on the second night of a back-to-back, though he emphasized that he's not making excuses.

Antetokounmpo would finish with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists, as he and the rest of the Heat look to start the turnaround on Sunday against the Sacramento Kings.
