If the Milwaukee Brewers win the World Series , William Contreras could win MVP . So far, Contreras is batting .538 with 3 RBIs as the Brewers lead the series 3-0 . As a result, Milwaukee fans are beyond excited. So much so that they are vehemently criticizing former pitcher-turned-analyst John Smoltz for saying that Contreras shouldn't challenge calls in certain game situations, per Jomboy Media.
In the bottom of the 3rd inning, Smoltz essentially said Contreras has no business arguing balls and strikes with umpires. The Brewers were up 2-0 at the time.

As a result, fans took issue with that.
“Honestly the WORST TAKE I might have ever heard live, ever,” @tdogbearkat posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Another fan also took Smoltz to task for not understanding the Brewers' approach.
“Smoltz truly doesn’t understand the Brewers mentality. EVERY pitch matters. They play with sustained intensity no other team can match. This game moves fast; he needs to catch up,” @lisa_lehman posted.
Then, another fan made sure to remind Smoltz, who knows better than most, that the World Series is indeed the World Series.
