The Kansas City Chiefs recently took their first loss of the season with an ugly road defeat at the hands of the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. The Chiefs' offense wasn't able to get much of anything going in this one, totaling just three points in the blowout loss, with some Harrison Butker missed field goals to boot.

One person unimpressed with what he saw from Kansas City in this one is former NFL wide receiver Steve Smith Sr., who took to ESPN and called on the team to explore making a trade.

“The run game is lipstick on a pig. … You need a wide receiver that can press the secondary,” he said, per Get Up on X, formerly Twitter.

Indeed, the Chiefs don't exactly have a lot of options in the wide receiver room right now, leaving running back Kenneth Walker III to do most of the heavy lifting up to this point on the season.

When the Seahawks sold out to stop their former Super Bowl MVP on Sunday in the running game, Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the offense were left scrambling for answers, and Seattle dominated the game defensively as a result.

Some have floated the idea of the Chiefs reuniting with former star wideout Tyreek Hill this season, although it's unclear how much the former Pro Bowler has left in the tank, on the wrong side of 30 and coming off a devastating leg injury last year with the Miami Dolphins.

Whatever they end up doing, it's clear that some change is necessary for the Chiefs in order to bring a more balanced offensive attack to the table each week.
