The New York Giants are trying to win games this season without their usual starting quarterback, Jaxson Dart. J.J. McCarthy is helping to fill in after Dart went down with a bad injury. Former Giants quarterback Russell Wilson believes McCarthy is a great match with New York's head coach, John Harbaugh.
“That level of support where you don't have to put it ALL on your shoulders … that's a big thing for a young 23-year-old,” Wilson said, per NFL on CBS.

Harbaugh is in his first season as the Giants head coach. He has done well this year so far, as New York leads the NFC East. The Giants have a 4-2-1 record.
McCarthy has worked alongside veteran Jameis Winston helping to lead the Giants, since Dart went down. This season, McCarthy has 495 passing yards.
The quarterback came to New York after previously playing for the Minnesota Vikings. In a recent game against the Houston Texans, McCarthy threw for 252 passing yards for the Giants. He helped lead New York to an overtime win over the Texans.
McCarthy also won a national championship in college at Michigan. With the Wolverines, he played for Jim Harbaugh.
“You have this Harbaugh brother support in him,” Wilson added.
