The Indianapolis Colts traded Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a third-round pick in 2027 and a fifth-round pick in 2028. It's a deal that sends arguably the best left guard in football to the Pacific Northwest for the remainder of the season. However, Seattle wasn't the only team in the mix, as rumors suggest there were three other NFL teams inquiring Indy about Nelson's availability.

It's said that the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, and Philadelphia Eagles at least showed interest in the 30-year-old offensive lineman, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. If these rumors are true, then the Seahawks managed to outbid each of those organizations for Nelson.

“The Packers, Bears, and Eagles were among teams that showed varying levels of interest in Quenton Nelson, per source,” Fowler reported. “His market was strong.”

In the end, Seattle gets a major upgrade at left guard. While many have pointed out that this acquisition will help the run game moving forward, former NFL quarterback Russell Wilson loves this deal for Sam Darnold. Not only should the rushing attack improve with Nelson up front, but in turn, the play-action passing game should benefit as well.

The nine-year veteran heads to Seattle with 136 appearances in his career, starting in every single contest with the Colts. Nelson has been one of the most reliable left guards in the NFL throughout his career, and the eight-time Pro Bowler will have a chance to continue that trend on a new team.

Seattle is scheduled to face off against the Bears in Week 8 for a “Monday Night Football” showdown. There is a chance the three-time First-Team All-Pro makes his Seahawks debut in that game. If not, then fans can expect him to make his first appearance with his new team in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals.
