The Philadelphia 76ers have continued to put in extra work in practice this week as training camp is fully underway. While Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid have been in Philadelphia under head coach Nick Nurse, Jaylen Brown and LeBron James are taking it one step at a time and learning each other out before advancing to their teammates.

With this being the first time in a while Brown and James have had to go through a training camp with a whole new team, the two-time NBA All-Star guard has taken it upon himself to make sure the new guys are comfortable.

In speaking after the 76ers' second practice during opening week of training camp, Jaylen Brown says he's appreciated just how much Tyrese Maxey has gone out of his way to help him.

“Yeah I think Tyrese, he's just been a great communicator and he's been leading with his voice early on,” Brown said. “He's going out of his way to make sure that I feel comfortable in the system, which goes a long way. He doesn't have to do that, I'm the type of guy that'll figure it out regardless, but for him to be like trying to make sure i feel welcomed, I appreciate it.”

Jaylen Brown, of course, was part of that stunning trade that saw him leave the Boston Celtics two years after winning an NBA Championship. He was replaced by Paul George in a move that LeBron James admitted affected his free agency decision this summer.

“Tyrese has been a great leader, he's been a great host. Obviously, he's been here for a long time, but he's been the most vocal and he's been the one kind of making sure everybody is kind of accommodated. He's over-emphasized that he's trying to make me feel comfortable, even if I don't need it, I appreciate it. Tyese has beren the most accommodating. He's been a great host.”

Jaylen Brown is coming off a career year in which he averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.0 steal per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from three. He'll be joining Maxey, who also had a career-year across the board last season, while LeBron James took a step back while playing with Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid prioritized his health over every statistical category.

The Sixers' first preseason game of the year will come against the New York Knicks on Monday, October 5th. It'll be one of four preseason games for the Philadelphia 76ers, who surely enter this season with high championship aspirations.
