Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani dealt with injury concerns toward the end of the regular season. Ohtani struggled at the plate after returning from injury late in the season, but he's still one of the best players in the sport and the Dodgers are looking forward to having him available for the MLB playoffs. Ohtani provided an injury update on Friday with the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves scheduled to begin on Saturday.
“Shohei Ohtani says (through interpreter Will Ireton) he had a productive bye week, but he'll continue monitoring the arm and knee injuries that plagued him through the second half of the season. ‘As of now, it's something I'm just going to have to manage,'” Katie Woo of The Athletic reported Friday.
The 32-year-old still had a productive season despite being limited later in the year. The two-way phenom ended up making a total of 14 starts on the mound while appearing in 135 total games. He likely won't win the NL MVP this season — as Pete Crow-Armstrong is probably going to win the honor — but Ohtani still had a tremendous campaign.
