The Minnesota Timberwolves added a couple of big pieces this offseason with the trade for star point guard LaMelo Ball, and then signing former lottery pick Jonathan Kuminga in free agency. But a lot of their potential success still hinges on internal development, and for Timberwolves budding star Jaden McDaniels, that includes his strong chemistry with Rudy Gobert.

During the early days of Timberwolves training camp, Jaden McDaniels went into detail about how his on-court chemistry with Rudy Gobert has continued to develop, as per Andrew Dukowitz of Zone Coverage.

“To be honest, I don’t even know how to answer the questions. I just go throw it and hope he catches it. I’m not gonna lie, that’s all I do,” McDaniels said. “Like if I see him open, I’m going to pass it no matter what, Even if I’m on the opposite end of him so he gets his touches, he stays confident, so just keep doing it. He’s going to mess up sometimes. We all do, it’s alright.”

Both McDaniels and Gobert are going to be crucial for the Wolves this season. McDaniels is coming off a career year in which he appeared in 73 games at a little over 31 minutes per game. He averaged a career-high 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.0 blocked shots with splits of 51.5 percent shooting from the field, 41.2 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 83.5 percent shooting from the 3-point line.

Gobert is coming a year in which he played 76 games at a little over 31 minutes per game. He averaged 10.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 blocked shots with splits of 68.2 percent shooting from the field.
