The Indiana Fever will live for at least another game, but their win over the Las Vegas Aces in Game 2 of their first-round series in the 2026 WNBA Playoffs was seemingly not enough to put Caitlin Clark in an absolutely great mood — thanks to the refs.
Following the Fever's 99-89 win over the reigning WNBA champions at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Clark gave her two cents on the officiating.
“I thought the refs really struggled tonight. It’s so confusing at times,” Clark said (h/t Fever writer Robin Lundberg).
Clark fouled out of the contest with 2:45 left in the fourth quarter.
In any case, Clark and the Fever will have at least one more game to play, as they forced a Game 3 against the Aces. The former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar point guard teamed up with backcourt partner Kelsey Mitchell to lead the way for Indiana.
Clark finished with a team-high 27 points on 9-for-18 shooting from the field and 5-for-11 from behind the arc, while dropping 15 dimes in 33 minutes of action. Mitchell, on the other hand, racked up 26 points on 7-for-16 shooting from the floor go to with three 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

The Fever upped the tempo in Game 2 and it paid dividends, with Indiana taking 71 attempts from the floor to only 59 by the Aces.
Clark has a history of calling out the officiating in the WNBA, but she can't also let her frustration at the refs take some away from her focus on the main goal, which is to bring a championship to Indiana.
The Fever and the Aces will play Game 3 of the series on Thursday at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. The winner of that matchup will face the victor of the othe first-round series between the Golden State Valkyries and the Dallas Wings.
