The New York Liberty advanced to the semifinals after beating the Minnesota Lynx, 87-71, in Game 2 at Barclays Center on Tuesday, sweeping their first-round series.

The trio of Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and Sabrina Ionescu proved to be too much for the Lynx, who became the first No. 1 seed to get eliminated by the No. 8 seed in league history.

Stewart had 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks, while Jones tallied 21 points and 13 rebounds. Ionescu added 18 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

The Liberty led by as much as 19 points and shot 46% from the field.

They will await the winner of the first-round clash between the Atlanta Dream and the Washington Mystics.
