Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever bit back at the Las Vegas Aces, 99-89, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Monday to tie their first-round series in the playoffs at 1-1.
Clark was phenomenal with 27 points, including five three-pointers, seven rebounds, and 15 assists. The Fever leaned on a 30-point surge in the second quarter, which helped them build momentum in the second half en route to the win.
The victory, however, was marred by an altercation between A'ja Wilson and a fan with 4:10 left in the fourth quarter. Wilson went at the fan, who was seated at courtside and appeared to say something to the four-time MVP, and pointed at him. Wilson was whistled for a technical foul. The fan, meanwhile, was escorted to a different section by security personnel.
As shared by The Athletic's James Boyd, Indiana issued a statement regarding the incident.
“Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses. Security determined there was no violation of the fan code of conduct. The fan was not removed from the arena. We consider the matter closed,” said the Fever.

After the game, Wilson called out the fan for his “unacceptable” behavior.
“I don't give a damn how you said it,” said the three-time champion. “You don't step towards me and point at me.”
Wilson finished with 22 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.
Kelsey Mitchell, meanwhile, added 26 points on 7-of-16 shooting for the Fever. Aliyah Boston contributed 22 points, four rebounds, and five assists.
The Fever and the Aces will meet again in Game 3 on Thursday.
