The Golden State Warriors may have finally found Stephen Curry's eventual replacement, and apparently, Brandin Podziemski has already mastered the most important part of the job: looking exactly like the two-time NBA MVP.

During Golden State's 101-89 preseason victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night, Podziemski went viral for seemingly copying Curry's signature on-court mannerisms down to the smallest details.

Courtside Buzz shared a clip on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing Podziemski channeling his inner Curry with a slow, nonchalant walk, an outstretched high-five and, perhaps most importantly, the familiar habit of chewing on his mouthguard.

The resemblance was difficult to ignore, raising the lighthearted question of whether the Warriors have already begun preparing Podziemski to take over Curry's role when the franchise icon eventually retires.

Of course, replacing the NBA's all-time leader in 3-pointers will require considerably more than perfecting his signature swagger.

Nevertheless, Golden State has already made a significant financial commitment to Podziemski's future.

The 23-year-old guard recently agreed to a five-year, $110 million contract extension with the Warriors, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The fully guaranteed agreement includes a mutual option for the 2031-32 season and a trade kicker.

Brandin Podziemski appears to be taking on Stephen Curry’s exact, nonchalant mannerisms 😂🍿

From the slow walk, to the outstretched high-five, to chewing the mouth piece… it looks VERY similar.

Brandin Podziemski might be taking his Stephen Curry mentorship seriously

Selected with the No. 19 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, Podziemski has developed into an important member of Golden State's young core while learning alongside Curry.

The four-time NBA champion has spent his entire career with the Warriors, establishing a legacy that will be nearly impossible for any successor to replicate.

However, Podziemski appears to have gotten an early start on at least one aspect of following in Curry's footsteps.

Whether the similarities were intentional remains unclear, but the viral moment provided some entertainment as Golden State approaches the 2026-27 regular season.

The Warriors will conclude their preseason against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday at 7 p.m. PT before opening the regular season against the Lakers next Wednesday at 7 p.m. PT on ESPN.

For now, Curry's job is safe. His signature mannerisms, however, might have some competition.
