The Minnesota Timberwolves recently improved to 3-0 on the young 2026-27 NBA season with a dominant home win over the Toronto Raptors. The Timberwolves have now blown out all three opponents they've faced so far this year, with LaMelo Ball looking quite comfortable in his new threads through one week.

In addition to his lethal outside shooting, Ball has been known as one of the most creative passers in the NBA today, and recently, the point guard spoke on how he intentionally sometimes inflicts a bit of pain on his teammates to make sure they're paying attention.

“I actually try to hit them in the head a couple times in the first day. You know, you get hit in the head one time, you always know how your head up,” he said, per the Timberwolves' official channel on YouTube, via Hoopshype.

Ball often throws passes at unorthodox angles that few other players in the league would attempt, so it's certainly understandable that he'd want to help train his new teammates to always keep their eyes open for his potential assists.

The partnership of Ball and Anthony Edwards has been excellent so far, with the two guards frequently hunting shots on the perimeter and also putting plenty of pressure on the rim. There is currently some concern about the state of Edwards' knee, which seemed to flare up at times during the Raptors game on Sunday and has been a big issue dating back to last season.

However, if Minnesota can stay remotely healthy this year, it's hard to imagine them not once again being among the top teams in the Western Conference throughout this season.
