Although the Chicago Bulls are off to a 1-2 start, Caleb Wilson is surging. He is coming off his first double-double, with 30 points and 14 rebounds, in a 124-120 loss to the Washington Wizards last Saturday.
Wilson came away with five dunks. He also came close to Michael Jordan for the most points in his first three games in franchise history. Now, Wilson has eclipsed every other rookie in points per game as Chicago prepares to face the Boston Celtics on Monday, per Chicago Bulls talk.
He is averaging 22.3 points per game while also shooting 40.7% from the field. The player who matches him in points per game is Darius Acuff of the Sacramento Kings. Meanwhile, Yaxel Lendeborg is right behind, averaging 18.7 points per game. Cameron Boozer is averaging 16.0, Keaton Wagler is averaging 13.0, and Darryn Peterson is averaging 10.7.
