On Saturday evening, the LSU football program got back into the win column with a blowout home win over the Texas A&M Aggies by a score of 35-6. This was a strong game for quarterback Sam Leavitt, who threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns, bouncing back from a shaky performance during the Tigers' loss to Ole Miss last week.

At one point, Leavitt suffered an apparent hamstring injury, but was able to return to the game and finish strong.

After the game, Leavitt spoke on how that temporary setback actually ended up helping him.

Leavitt said injuries “lock you in… and allow you to play pure point guard,” per Hunter McCann of WBRZ on X, formerly Twitter.

Leavitt sure seemed to be locked in on Saturday, torching an Aggies defense that had previously given up a huge game to the lowly Kentucky Wildcats earlier this season, and allowing the Tigers to fully move past their tough loss to the Rebels last week.

In that contest, there were some questions about Leavitt's viability as the Tigers' starting quarterback, as he at times struggled to make reads in the face of high pressure in the pocket, but from the second half of the Ole Miss game and into Saturday's blowout win, the Arizona State transfer has been up to the challenge, being everything the Tigers need him to in order to find success.

LSU will now have a couple of tune-up games, first against McNeese State and then Kentucky, before they get back into the gauntlet of their schedule.

The McNeese State clash is set for Saturday at 7:45 pm ET from Baton Rouge.
