Chicago Cubs superstar Pete Crow-Armstrong is the favorite to win the NL MVP. Recently, PCA hit his 45th home run of the season, tying him for the lead in the major leagues.

With being tied for first in the majors in home runs, Crow-Armstrong is closing in on some major history, according to Sarah Langs of MLB.com.

“Pete Crow-Armstrong is: T1st in MLB in HR, T4th in 3B, 5th in SB.  Players to finish a season top-5 in MLB in 3B, HR & SB since 1900: 1955 Willie Mays, 1920 George Sisler, 1908 Honus Wagner,” Langs posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Crow-Armstrong's 45 home runs are tied with Kyle Schwarber for the most in the majors. It is four more than third-place Junior Caminero and five more than Matt Olson, Yordan Alvarez, and Pete Alonso. For PCA to drop out of the top five, all four of them would have to hit nearly a home run per game, while PCA does not have a single one.

PCA also has eight triples, tied with Daylen Lile for fourth. There are three players tied for sixth with seven triples, and it is unlikely that two of the three of them hit two triples to knock PCA out of the top five. Crow-Armstrong is also closing in on a 40-40 season. He is fifth in stolen bases with 38. That is two more than Fernando Tatis Jr. and just two behind Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Crow-Armstrong has six games to hold on to the top-five ranks. The Cubs have a three-game home series against the Miami Marlins before hitting the road against the Boston Red Sox to end the season.
