Bye weeks and injuries are making things tough to field a competitive fantasy football roster. However, your Week 8 waiver wire pickups can solve that, and ClutchPoints is here to help.

The following list includes players who are rostered on fewer than 50 percent of all ESPN rosters, as this week’s list focuses on potential game winners and not depth pieces. Heading into Week 8, try your best to find that final missing piece your roster needs to win your matchup.

Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

1. WR Omar Cooper Jr., New York Jets
34.7% Rostered

Two consecutive weeks of earning five-plus targets and finding the end zone puts Omar Cooper Jr. firmly atop the Week 8 waiver wire pickups. Cementing himself as one of the top pass catchers in the pass-happy NYJ offense, Cooper is in the WR3/FLEX conversation heading into Week 8, where the Jets will face the Las Vegas Raiders.

2. WR Antonio Williams, Washington Commanders
7.1% Rostered

With Terry McLaurin suffering a season-ending injury, Stefon Diggs and rookie Antonio Williams will be asked to take on larger roles. Comments from head coach Dan Quinn make it sound like Williams will see his role grow much larger than what it currently is, and that makes him a top WR target for your Week 8 waiver wire pickups.

Williams has commanded four-plus targets in four games so far this year, and having that floor already established gives him weekly flex value for your fantasy football roster.

3. RB Jonah Coleman, Denver Broncos
24.2% Rostered

Rookie running back Jonah Coleman is set to return for the Denver Broncos in Week 8, and he finds himself as the top running back in ClutchPoints’ Week 8 waiver wire pickups. Before his injury, Coleman showed some flashes as the potential bellcow of the future for Denver’s backfield, and he will likely take some work away from JK Dobbins upon returning, giving him weekly RB3 value.

4. TE Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars
36.1% Rostered

Brenton Strange is the lone tight end in the Week 8 waiver wire pickups, as he continues to be one of the featured pass catchers in the crowded Jacksonville passing attack. Strange has seen five-plus targets in each of his past four games and seven-plus in his last three, racking up 22 catches over that four-game span.

While he has only found the end zone once this season, Strange has a weekly TE1 floor with his current workload, and he can absolutely be your rest-of-season solution at tight end, with the Jaguars coming off their Week 7 bye.

5. WR Caleb Douglas, Miami Dolphins
9.7% Rostered

Rookie wideout Caleb Douglas seems to be one of Malik Willis' favorite targets in the pass-heavy Miami Dolphins offense, as he took both of his receptions in Week 7 for scores. Having missed three games this year with an injury, Douglas has seen 13 targets in his three healthy games, racking up 11 receptions and the two scores.

The Dolphins have one of the league’s worst rosters, so they will be tasked with playing from behind most of the year, giving Douglas a shot at seeing 70-plus targets this year and putting him in contention to be a WR3/bench option for you moving forward.

6. QB Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
12.8% Rostered

The first (of two) quarterbacks in the Week 8 waiver wire pickups is southpaw Michael Penix Jr., who has locked himself into the QB1 slot for the Atlanta Falcons. Penix has kept the turnovers low, only throwing one interception and losing one fumble all year, while he has thrown nine touchdowns across five games so far.

The Falcons face Tampa Bay, Cincinnati, and Kansas City before their Week 11 bye, and Penix has a chance to be a bye week fill-in for your roster.

7. WR Jordyn Tyson, New Orleans Saints
34.3% Rostered

Rookie wideout Jordyn Tyson is a speculative add, as the Arizona State rookie has yet to step onto the field this year as he has been recovering from a hamstring injury. With the New Orleans Saints heading on their bye week in Week 8, Tyson is in line to make his NFL debut in Week 9, joining an offense that desperately needs a secondary target opposite Chris Olave.

8. RB Elijah Mitchell, Philadelphia Eagles
0.0% Rostered

Both Saquon Barkley (back) and Dameon Pierce (unknown) suffered injuries in Philadelphia’s Week 7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, potentially opening the door for practice-squad running back Elijah Mitchell to see an elevated workload in Week 8.

If either back is healthy, then that doesn’t give Mitchell a real runway to seeing work in Week 8, but if Mitchell is elevated into the starting role against the Commanders, he can be fired up as an RB2.

9. QB Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals
19.7% Rostered

Jacoby Brissett is a pass-happy quarterback that can act as a fill-in option if you are facing any bye week issues at quarterback. A Week 8 matchup with a beatable Dallas defense gives Brissett the potential to be a solid addition to your Week 8 waiver wire pickups, as that is one of the best possible defenses for him to face.

10. RB Seth McGowan, Indianapolis Colts
4.0% Rostered

A potential sell-off for the struggling Indianapolis Colts could see star running back Jonathan Taylor caught in the trade winds, giving backup running back Seth McGowan a shot to be the starter. McGowan doesn’t command a ton of work behind Taylor, so you should only add him to your Week 8 waiver wire pickups if you have an extra spot on your roster for him.
