Naturally, learning that she was released by WWE was not fun for former Superstar Zoey Stark, who revealed what went through her mind when it happened.

In a Q&A video on her YouTube channel, Stark, who now goes by Zoey Serrano, conceded that it “hit like a ton of bricks.” In fact, thinking about it “kind of makes me want to cry” because she was blindsided by the news.

She was at the gym when she got the news. Stark was talking to the likes of Chelsea Green as the round of releases was happening, and she had a “strange feeling” in her gut. She didn't expect to be released, especially since she was working her way back from injury and was just cleared. She managed to put it aside temporarily, but she eventually got the phone call, and her “body started to shake.”

“Obviously, I started crying,” she remembered. “I went to the car immediately, and I truly, truly thought I was having a panic attack because I couldn't breathe, you know? Like, every worst-case scenario was going through my head, and I was having a really hard time.”

Stark also sympathized with the person who called her to deliver the news. She said, “That's not an easy day at the office for him. I could hear it in his voice. It really hurt.”

Obviously, no one wants to be released. However, Stark is looking ahead and is excited for the future, because she now has the “opportunity” to find herself again.

Plus, she's now having “fun” again at work. Stark feels as though she “lost who I was along my WWE career,” and it's now all about rediscovery.

With hindsight, she sees her release as a “blessing in disguise.” She has returned to the independent circuit and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) since her release.
