The Miami Heat have gotten off to a disastrous start to the 2026-27 NBA season, currently sitting at 0-4 after a recent home loss to the Dallas Mavericks. While Giannis Antetokounmpo has been putting up MVP-level numbers, his fit with Bam Adebayo has proven to be a major issue thus far, with Adebayo struggling to get into any kind of offensive rhythm.
Recently, Heat legend Dwyane Wade compared the situation to when he and LeBron James struggled to play off one another when James first took his talents to South Beach back in 2010.
“We had this in Miami with Bron and I. Bron came, and I think it took us about a year before Bron could be LeBron. Him and I were back and forth,” he said, per Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel on X, formerly Twitter.
Chris Bosh, another member of that “Big Three” with James and Wade, broke down how he thinks Erik Spoelstra needs to adjust the game plan moving forward.
“I think they can get Giannis a lot more active in screen and rolls and pin downs, moving, get him in some screen and rolls as a ball handler as well… I think Bam should be more aggressive as well,” he said, per Heat Central on X.

In any case, the Heat will try to pick up their first win of the season on Wednesday night when they hit the road to take on the Atlanta Hawks.
