The Duke Blue Devils are absolutely shellacking the Boston College Eagles 47-2 with just two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Manny Diaz has his team playing at an extremely high level, and the offense has leaned heavily on running back Nate Sheppard.

Through the first three quarters, the sophomore ball carrier totaled 129 yards and five touchdowns, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals and On3 Sports. Those five scores led Sheppard to break Duke's all-time single-season touchdown record and single-game rushing touchdown record.

Diaz pulled Sheppard out of the game going into the fourth quarter after leading Duke to a big enough lead to essentially guarantee the victory. The Louisiana native ended the day with 97 rushing yards and 32 receiving yards to go along with his five scores from the ground.

After his big day, Nate Sheppard has now accumulated 972 rushing yards (currently leading the ACC), 302 receiving yards, and an ACC-high 18 total touchdowns (14 rushing, 4 receiving). He also leads the conference with 173 rushing attempts, as he's playing like one of the most dominant running backs in the nation right now.

Duke will advance to a 6-2 record for the season and is officially bowl-eligible. The Blue Devils only have four more games remaining in the campaign. The program will have an opportunity to prove itself as a true contender in the ACC in Week 11 when Duke faces off against No. 1 Miami Hurricanes. But Manny Diaz will get his team ready and focused on the Week 10 matchup against the North Carolina State Wolfpack in Week 10 first.
