The Atlanta Braves lead 1-0 in the best-of-three Wild Card Series after a crazy ending that will leave Philadelphia Phillies fans confused.
The Phillies were leading 3-2 entering the bottom of the 8th inning, and it seemed as if manager Don Mattingly was a genius for putting in closer Jhoan Duran for the 7th inning against the Braves' heart of the order. Mattingly decided to keep him out there for the 8th inning. After getting the first two outs of the inning, Duran allowed back-to-back base runners, and Austin Riley made him pay with a 3-run homer to right-center field.
