HOUSTON -- The White Sox are dancing their way through the postseason, adding a four-run first in Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series against Houston after winning Game 1, and it begins pregame in the dugout.
There’s a scripted dance done before each game, carried over from the regular season, involving Mike Vasil and third-base coach Justin Jirschele. Most of the dugout begins clapping, and the duo busts their moves in the middle of the dugout. It looks as if catcher Drew Romo joined the pregame ritual on Wednesday.
Vasil is out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery during Spring Training. But the right-hander has served as the organization’s unofficial entertainment director since his injury, as anyone who has watched the Windy City wizard can attest. Before Wednesday’s contest, Vasil, Davis Martin and Tyler Davis visited the train in left field at Daikin Park.
