Gervon Dexter needed only a month in Atlanta to secure his long-term future. The Falcons defensive tackle is signing a four-year, $78 million extension that includes $46.5 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who cited agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus.
Atlanta acquired Dexter from Chicago on August 30 and has quickly followed that investment with a substantial commitment. The extension averages $19.5 million annually, giving the 24-year-old financial security while establishing him as a major piece of the Falcons’ defensive plans. That is a major payday for a young player who was a late second-round pick in 2023.
