The Chicago Cubs are in the middle of the first matchup of a double-header against the Boston Red Sox, as the team prepares for the playoffs. Early in the contest, outfielder Tyron Taylor smashed a ball that should have went over the Green Monster. However, Mother Nature got involved.

Taylor hit the ball toward deep left field and it had the height and distance to be a home run. However, the wind forced the ball back onto the field by 59 feet, according to MLB insider Sarah Langs. The 32-year-old still managed to record a double and drove in an early run for the Cubs.

“Tyrone Taylor’s double was blown in 59 (!!) ft by wind, preventing a home run, per Weather Applied Metrics,” Lang said. “Still drove in a run!”
